Born in Rome on 27 April 1989, Andrea Pavan looks set to follow in the footsteps of his teammate, Edoardo Molinari.
In December 2010, Pavan graduated from Texas A & M University (USA) with a degree in economics, and has now come back to Europe to pursue his pro golf career.
Boasting an impressive amateur career, his palmares include: 5th place in the R&A’s World Amateur rankings, 2nd in the European Golf Association’s amateurs rankings, and 1st in the Italian National Rankings.
In his first year as a professional, he was quick to earn himself a victory on the Challenge Tour (Norwegian Challenge) and a second-place finish at the Karnten Golf Open; he also came close to achieving impressive results a number of other times. In 2011, he performed well at the Italian Open, finishing just short of the top 20 (with a win at the Pro-Am), after having earned himself the title of best amateur on the same course the year before. Prospects for 2012 center around the European Tour.
